SCARS ARE STORIES

This project is an exploration of scars as powerful markers of resilience, reclamation, and self-love. Through photographing people with scars, I aim to create a space where stories tied to trauma and healing can be honored and celebrated.

As someone with a large belly scar that once carried deep shame, this work is profoundly personal. Over time, through this project and the community it has fostered, I’ve come to see my scar as a symbol of survival and strength—a part of my story that deserves compassion and pride.

Each portrait is an invitation to embrace the beauty of transformation and to redefine how we see our bodies and ourselves. This work is about reclaiming what was once hidden, finding connection in shared vulnerability, and celebrating the courage it takes to love ourselves fully.
